Aberdeen Art Gallery

Museums & Art Centres
The Aberdeen Art Gallery, founded in 1885 and today part of the AAGM (Aberdeen Archives, Gallery & Museums), houses a collection of works by artists, designers and makers, spanning over 700 years.

Since its foundation the gallery has been acquiring the best and most interesting contemporary artworks, whereas the visitors can admire works from Brueghel to Borland, Landseer to Lambie and from Guthrie to Gibb.

The building was designed in the neo-classical style by Alexander Marshall Mackenzie, extended in the 1920s by the Cowdry Hall concert venue, the interior Remembrance Hall and the exterior Cenotaph, all by the original architect.
