Amsterdam Museum, located in the old municipal orphanage, is dedicated to the history of Amsterdam. The museum has a large collection, spanning from the Middle Ages up to the present, containing a wide range of items, such as paintings, models, archeological findings, photographs...
The orphanage, rebuilt in the 17th century by the famous architect Jacob van Campen, was still in use until 1960.
