Birmingham Botanical Gardens were founded in 1829 by J.C. Loudon, the historic garden designer, horticultural journalist and publisher. The gardens are covering 6 ha (15 acres), and have very little changed since inception.
The gardens are housing an important number (7000) of plants. In addition the site is the home of the The British National Bonsai Collection.
Birmingham Botanic Gardens, open every day, are also a venue for corporate and private events, such as receptions, weddings...
