Gardens & Parks
Bussaco National Park is a 101 ha landscape estate, surrounding the formal gardens and the Bussaco Palace. The palace was built in 1885 for King Luis I of Portugal and his wife, Maria Pia of Savoy.
The palace itself, in Manueline-Gothic style, was converted into a deluxe hotel in 1917, and is nowadays one of the most beautiful and historic hotels in the world.
