Castello della Zisa & Genoard Park date back to the 12th century and were built by Norman kings. The park, Genoard, with its water works, was very famous and a link between the Islamic and Renaissance civilisations.
Genoard, or Gennoardo, comes from the Arabic 'Gennat al-Ars', which means 'Paradise on Earth'.
The park today, is a new design, in honour of the past.
