Charles Dickens Museum is the former home of Dickens and his family and where he wrote 'Oliver Twist', 'Pickwick Papers' and 'Nicholas Nickleby'. The house is completely furnished and where you can see all the rooms 'upstairs' and 'downstairs' including the family's furniture, table ware, portraits, marble busts, china ornaments and paintings.
At the centre of the house is the author’s study. In this book-lined room he wrote an extraordinary number of newspaper articles, journal essays, short stories and novels.
