Clumber Park
Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Clumber Park was the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle, but the house was demolished in 1938. However the stables, the entrance gate and the chapel survive, together with the parkland and gardens, covering 1,538 ha (3,800 acres).
The estate was acquired by the National Trust in 1946.
There is a 1.6 ha (4 acres) walled kitchen garden, including a rose garden, orchards, a long range glasshouse and a newly restored palm house.
