Cyfarthfa Castle

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Cyfarthfa Castle, built in 1824 by the architect Robert Lugar, was the home of the Crawshay family until 1907 when it was sold to the local council. The mansion is partially used as a Museum and Art gallery. It is surrounded by a 64 ha (158 acres) parkland.

The Museum and Art Gallery are housed in restored Regency rooms, displaying family memorabilia, fine and decorative art, artefacts from around the world and social history material.

The (former children's) Playroom is today used for temporary exhibitions.
