Duchov Castle came in to the hands of the Counts Waldstein, via the Lobkowicz family, in 1642 and stayed there ever since until its confiscation in 1945. The castle is open for the public and the landscape garden serves as public park.
During the 19th century Duchov Castle ((German: Dux) was remodelled in classicist style.
The interior displays a considerable collection of paintings and is reflecting the life-style of the Waldstein family until 1945.
