Falkland Palace & Garden
Falkland Palace one of Scotland’s finest Renaissance palaces, where the Stuart Kings were frequent residents, such as Mary, Queen of Scots. The Palace and grounds are open to the public.
Built between 1501 and 1541, it is one of Scotland’s finest Renaissance palaces. It was frequently used by the Stuarts kings, including Mary, Queen of Scots. After 1660 the palace was little used and fell into disrepair until it was restored in its initial state by the 3rd Marquess of Bute in the late 19th century, as Keeper of the Palace.
The grounds include a physic garden with Renaissance-era herbal remedies.
