Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Glenveag castle, built in 1867-1873, for John George Adair and designed by John Townsend Trench, was handed over to the nation, along with its gardens and much of the contents, by its last private owner Henry McIlhenny.
He had allowed for the creation of a National Park.
Glenveagh National Park is a remote and hauntingly beautiful wilderness of rugged mountains, pristine lakes, tumbling waterfalls and enchanted native oak woodland
