The Lainzer Tiergarten is a former fenced-in imperial hunting ground, dating back to 1561 when it was created by Emperor Ferdinand I. Since 1919 it is open to the public as a wildlife preserve.
In the middle of the grounds you find the Royal Hermes Villa, constructed by Emperor Franz Joseph for his wife Sisi. (see: https://www.tripendy.com/location/hermesvilla)
