The Musée du 11 Conti, part of the Monnaie de Paris and located in Hôtel de la Monnaie , is dedicated to the history and the making of money in France. The Monnaie de Paris (Paris Mint) is the French oldest institution and dates back to the 9th century.
Since 1973, the Monnaie de Paris has divided its activities between the historic Quai de Conti site, where medals and coins made of precious metals are minted, and the Pessac factory, where legal currency is made.
