Museum Kranenburgh, established in the artists' village of Bergen, the origin of the early 20th century Bergen School of painters. The museum has been collecting since the 1990s, and focuses on innovation, engagement and connection with nature and the environment.
The museum includes a sculpture garden, a museum shop and an art-rent department with a varied collection of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, ceramics and sculptures. The works cannot only be rented, but also be purchased.
The Kranenburgh Museum is also housing the Bergen Artists Center, which was founded in 1947 and whose two hundred members live and work in Bergen.
The present curator and Head of the museum's collection is Marianne van Gils.
