Neuenburg Castle

Neuenburg Castle, today a museum, was once an important seat of the Counts von Thüringen and dates back to the 12th century. Under the different branches of the House of Saxony, it was a luxurious Hunting Lodge. During the DDR the castle was highly neglected.

However, thanks to private initiative and the "Stiftung Schlösser, Burgen und Gärten des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt", the owner since 1997, the castle came to live again.

Neuenburg Castle is also a venue for corporate and private events, such as meetings, weddings...
