Palanga Amber Museum - Tiškevičiai (Tyszkiewicz) Palace

The Palanga Amber Museum, a branch of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art and housed on the first floor of the restored 19th-century Tiškevičiai (Tyszkiewicz) Palace,  contains one of the largest collections of amber in the world with about 30 thousand exhibits in total.

The palace, a former property of the Counts Tyszkiewicz, is surrounded by the Birute park, or the Palanga Botanical garden. The park, covering 100 ha, was commissioned by Count Feliksas Tiškevičius (Felix Tyszkiewicz) at the end of 19th century, and designed by the famous French architect Édouard François André.  

On the ground floor visitors can admire authentic spaces: Hall, Events Hall, Red Salon, Grand Salon, Countess Parlour, Blue Salon, Parlour of the Young Count, Small Salon.
