Romantic Gardens Sanderumgaard

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Romantic Gardens Sanderumgaard was created by Johan von Bülow, who was Lord Chamberlain to Crown Prince Frederik, early 1800. The land was alder swamp and had to be drained with a network of canals.

The garden covers 15 hectares / 37 acres and two pavilions, Tankefuld (Thoughtful) and Sommerlyst (Summer’s delight), survive from the original design.

The Sanderumgaard estate is still privately owned, presently by the 6th generation of the Vind family, one of the eldest Danish nobel families.
