Snowshill Manor & Garden

Snowshill Manor was built in the 16th century, but is known for its last private owner Charles Paget Wade (1883–1956), an architect, artist, craftsman and poet. He amassed a very extensive collection of all kind of objects, which can be seen at Snowshill Manor.

He gave the manor and its content to the National Trust in 1951.

Wade created the Arts & Crafts garden between 1920 and 1923, in collaboration with the architect Baillie Scott. It includes many features, such as a series of garden rooms, ponds, terraces, formal beds, a dovecot, a kitchen garden...
