Westonbirt Arboretum

Gardens & Parks
Westonbirt Arboretum is a 243 ha (600 acres) arboretum containing over 18,000 trees and shrubs. It was created in 1829 by Robert Stayner-Holfort, as part of his estate Westonbirt House.

His son Sir George Lindsay Holfort continued its development. His heir, the 4th Earl of Morley sold the house in 1928, but not the arboretum.

The family gave the arboretum to the nation in 1956.

There are free guided walks, mobility vehicles and dogs are welcome.
