Winterbourne House and Botanic Garden

Winterbourne is a rare surviving example of an early 20th century suburban villa and garden in the style of the Arts and Crafts movement. The House, an interactive Museum and the gardens are open to the public.

The house was built in 1903 for John and Margaret Nettlefold. Nettlefold was a pioneer of town planning.

John MacDonald Nicolson, the last private owner of the house and a keen gardener, died in 1944 and bequeathed the house and garden to the University of Birmingham, the present owner.
