Ca' Rezzonico Palace

Castles & Country Houses, Museums & Art Centres
Ca' Rezzonico Palace, constructed in the 18th century, is a museum with beautiful interior decoration and paintings from the Masters of that period, such as Tiepolo, Guardi...

The palace belonged originally to the patrician Bon family but they sold it, unfinished, to the rich Giambattista Rezzonico in 1750, who commissioned the architect Massiri to finish the work originally started by the architect Longhena. It was finished in 1758, the year in which his son Carlo was elected Pope (Clement XIII). Unfortunately, the family died out in 1810, and during the 19th century it had several owners until it was acquired by the city of Venice in 1935, who converted it into a museum.

Ca' Rezzonico Palace is managed by the Fondatione Musei Civici di Venezia.
