Château de Haroué was built between 1720 and 1732, commissioned by Marc de Beauvau, prince de Craon, Grand of Spain. The estate stayed in the family and is up to the present above all a family home, but is open to the public.
Marc de Beauvau was a friend from childhood on from Duke Léopold (1690-1729), viceroy of Tuscany and constable of Lorraine.
Interesting to mention is that the château's design also symbolises a year : 365 windows, 52 fireplaces,12 towers and 4 bridges. The castle is surrounded by an English garden, full of flowers and a French style park, designed by Emilio Terry, on behalf of the last prince Marc de Beauvau-Craon, seventh and last prince, who passed away in 1982.
Château de Haroué is also used for cultural, corporate and private events, such as concerts, receptions, dinners...
