The collection was formed in two periods: from 1950-1970, before the owners settled down at Fattoria di Celle, and thereafter 1970. The difference is that after 1970 many artists made their work exposed for the spot at the property itself. They were invited to find their favourite spot and make a work.

Today the collection consists of over 80 works of site specific art, created by artists from all over the world.

The Collection opens its doors to visitors from May to September every year. Visits are by guided tour, and by appointment only.
