Jan Strick, violinmaker - "Maison Bernard"
Crafts & Restorations, Music
Jan Strick, luthier, is a stringed bowed instrument maker. He has shared "Maison Bernard" with his colleague, the archelier-bow maker, Pierre Guillaume, for more than twenty years. "Maison Bernard" is situated in the Arts district of the Sablon, in the heart of Brussels, very near to the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Educated in France in the workshops of Michel Cune, Jan Bauer and Cognier Terrier, Jan Strick has acquired a deep knowledge of European stringed instruments of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. He is in particular specialised in the provision of expertise and in the study of instruments of the Flemish School.
