Museum of the Celts Hallein - Hallein Keltenmuseum

Museums & Art Centres
The Museum of the Celts Hallein (Hallein Keltenmuseum) is one of the most interesting and largest museums for the Celtic civilisation, whereas it also tells us some of pre-historic and historic Salzburg and Hallein.

What the museum presents is unique: Ice Age burial sites, areas of ancient settlement as well as salt mining on the Dürrnberg. An absolute highlight is a 2500-year-old Celtic beaked jug.

Since 1 January 2012 the Museum of the Celts Hallein and the Salzburg Museum GmbH have been working together under a management and cooperation agreement.

The Museum of the Celts Hallein also includes the Hallein Silent Night Museum. It is housed in the former flat of the song composer Franz Xaver Gruber.
