Painshill Park was owned and designed between 1738-1773 by Charles Hamilton, MP. The house, unfortunately, doesn't exist anymore. However the park, today owned by the Elmbridge Borough Council and managed by the Painstill Trust, has been restored with great care.
The park includes, a grotto, a Chinese bridge, a ruined abbey, a Turkish tent, a lake, a Gothic temple...
