Pinetum Gardens, covering 12 ha (30 acres), is located on land where in the 1800s copper and tin were mined. The garden has been developed since 1976 and houses over 6,000 types of plants and is specialized in n rhododendrons, magnolias and Mediterranean plants.
The site is divided a various gardens such as an Arboretum, Cornish Cottage Garden, Courtyard Garden, Japanese Garden, Old Garden, Sunken Garden, The Pinetum, Water Garden, Winter Garden and the Woodland Garden.
