Gardens & Parks
RHS Garden Rosemoor was originally started in 1959, on 3.2 ha (8 acres), by Lady Ann Palmer. She had inherited the Rosemoor estate in 1931 from her father, Robert Horace Walpole, the fifth Earl of Orford.
By the 1980s the garden had become a successful garden tourist attraction, and in 1988 Lady Palmer gave it, together with and additional 13 ha (32 acres) to the RHS. In the mid 1990s a further 37.5 ha (93 acres) were acquired.
Today Rosemoor is an exceptional beautiful place offering a multitude of garden experience, such as the Formal Garden, the Stream Field, a Lake, orchards, the garden of Lady Ann Berry (she has remarried Bob Berry after the death other first husband Colonel Eric Palmer )
