Schovenhorst estate, dating back to 1848, includes five arboreta: Kleine Pinetum (1852), Grote Pinetum (1901), Josina Park (1906), Arboretum (1938) and Drie Continentenbos (1967).
The founder of the estate was Mr. JH Schober, whereby his son-in-law, Dr. J. Th. Oudemans and his successors continued his work.
Since then the name Oudemans has been connected to Schovenhorst, up to the present day.
