Svindersvik House

Svindersvik is a well-preserved 18th century country residence, which is too small to be called a castle or a manor house. It was built in the 1740s for Claes Grill, an influential and wealthy financier and a director of the Swedish East India Company.
The villa changed hands several times before it was purchased by silk manufacturer K.A. Almgren Svindersvik in 1863. The ownership of Svindersvik was transferred in 1949 to the Nordic Museum, who opened it to the public.
