Museums & Art Centres
Schubert’s Birthplace, part of the Wien Museum, is the house where the famous composer Franz Schubert (1797 – 1828) was born. The apartment of the large family consisted solely of one room and a kitchen with open fire.
Today a large part of the top floor is dedicated to the memory of the composer, whereas the house also includes the Stifter memorial rooms with some fifty paintings demonstrating the great Austrian author's talent as a painter.
