Museums & Art Centres
Kulturen, opened in 1882, is the world's second oldest open-air museum after Skansen in Stockholm. At the same time, it is both an indoor and an open-air museum, featuring an extensive collection of historic buildings and beautiful gardens spanning from the Middle Ages to the 1930s.
There are also around twenty exhibitions, ranging from folk art to modern design, from mediaeval history to the present day and from local culture to global culture. As a complement to our exhibitions, we also offer visitors a wide-ranging programme of activities for all ages.
