The Mendel Museum of Masaryk University is dedicated to the life and work of G. J. Mendel (1822 – 1884) the scientist, meteorologist, mathematician, biologist, Augustinian friar and abbot of the St. Thomas Abbey in Brno.
It is a meeting place for experts and a centre for presenting the findings of science and research to the broader public. Besides maintaining an exhibition about G. J. Mendel, the museum also organises numerous lectures, primarily on genetics but also on other disciplines taught at Masaryk University.
