The National Museum of Ireland, Archaeology, opened in 1890, is a branch of the National Museum of Ireland and covers the history of Ireland from the Stone Age to Post Medieval times, including the Viking Collection, the Stone Age Collection, Ancient Egyptian Collection and the Post Medieval Collection.
The museum's sister museums are made up of the Museum of Natural History, the decorative arts section at Collins Barracks, and a country life museum in County Mayo, on Ireland’s west coast.
