Arc de Triomphe, one of the worlds' best known monuments, was inaugurated in 1836 by French king, Louis-Philippe. He dedicated it to the armies of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Empire. The Unknown Soldier was buried here in 1921, whereas the famous flame is rekindled every day at 18:30.
