Dante's Tomb (Tomba di Dante) is a neo-classical monument, where inside, and covered with marble on the occasion of the Centenary of 1921, the sepulchral ark that contains the bones of Dante, are preserved. The bas-relief is the work of the sculptor Pietro Lombardo, commissioned in 1483.
The Latin epitaph, composed by the poet Bernardo Canacccio in 1327, is engraved on the front.
