Château de Malbrouck
Castles & Country Houses, Event, Film & Wedding Hire
Château de Malbrouck's location dates from the 8th Century (Castrum Mododrom). Today it is in public hands used for cultural events such as exhibitions.
In the middle ages the land surrounding Malbrouck came under the control of Lords of Meinsburg. Later, in 1705, after the Battle of Blenheim, the Duke of Marlborough took the essentially already abandoned fortress. "Malbrouck" seems to be a nickname for Marlborough.
Malbrouck Castle itself is a post medieval fortress, built between 1419 and 1435 on the order of Arnold of Sierck. It has had few significant additions over its history, and its architecture is a mixture between the Medieval and the Renaissance style. The castle was made a public monument in the 1930s and rebuilt and restored between 1991 and 1999.
Château de Maisons is also a venue for corporate and private events.
