Rowallane Gardens, covering 20 ha (50 acres) are surrounding Rowallane House. They were created by the Reverend John Moore in the mid-1860s and later developed by his nephew Hugh Armytage Moore, who inherited the property in 1903.
Today the house and gardens are in the hands of the National Trust, whereas the house is used as the headquarters of the National Trust in Northern Ireland.
The gardens, a mix of formal and informal spaces, include a walled garden, a natural Rock Garden Wood, wildflower meadows, a Farmland Walk and a Woodland Walk.
There is also a pleasant tearoom with a nice terrace
