Botanical Gardens and Arboretum (11 ha) belongs to the Mendel University in Brno. Famous is our orchid collection with more than 1 500 natural species and 3 000 hybrids, seasoned with 200 species of the genus Tillandsia.
You can also find 500 alpine plants, 2 000 perennials and 4 000 woody plants in the outdoor area. Every year, at the end of May the visitor can admire more than 300 Iris cultivars.
The Garden was established by Prof. ing. A. Bayer in 1938.
It is also a venue for weddings.
