Barcelona Botanical Garden, located in Montjuïc, is specializing in plants from Mediterranean climate areas from all over the world, California, Chile, South Africa, Australia...
It was opened in 1999 and designed by the landscape architect Bet Figueras, the horticulturalist Artur Bossy, the biologist Joan Pedrola and the architects Carlos Ferrater and Josep Lluís Canosa.
The garden is managed by the Botanical Institute of Barcelona (Institut Botànic de Barcelona), which is part of the Museum of Natural Science of Barcelona.
It should not be confused with the Historical Botanical Garden of Barcelona (Jardí Botànic Històric), which is also managed by the Botanical Institute of Barcelona and located in Montjuïc.
