Barnet Museum

Museums & Art Centres
The Barnet Museum is dedicated to the local history of Chipping Barnet, East Barnet, New Barnet, Hadley and the surrounding districts, displaying hundreds of artefacts, dating from the Bronze Age to the present day.

One of the highlights is the presentation of the Battle of Barnet, which took place in 1471, and was an important battle of the Wars of the Roses, a series of English civil wars over who should be king. The claimants were Edward IV, of the house of York, and Henry VI, of the house of Lancaster.

The museum, run by volunteers, has an extensive archive, and is also a centre for local and family history research.
