Chateau Dacice
Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Chateau Dačice dates back to the 16th century, but was rebuilt in classicist style for the Barons of Dalberg early 19th century. Today, fully restored and furnished, the castle and English landscape park are open to the public.
Thanks to the Barons of Dalberg, the chateau is today still completely furnished and you can find two important libraries (24000 pieces) and a mineralogical or butterfly collection. They also reshaped the chateau park in the present English landscape style.
In 1940 the estate was inherited by the Princes of Salm-Salm, but was confiscated in 1945.
