Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Crystal Palace was the famous iron-plate-glass construction, built for the Great Exhibition in 1851, and designed by Joseph Paxton. Originally located in Hyde Park, it was removed afterwards to the actual location, however the construction was demolished in 1936.
The park still contains some features, such as the original Crystal Palace Dinosaurs, made by Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins and the Museum, dedicated to the history of Crystal Palace.
