Castles & Country Houses, Museums & Art Centres
The Galleria Nazionale della Puglia “Girolamo e Rosaria Devanna ”, housed in the 16th century Palazzo Sylos Calò, displays a magnificent collection of works of art ranging from the 16C to the 20C.

The Palazzo Sylos Calò is a fine masterpiece of Renaissance residential architecture in Bitonto. The palace, constructed over a pre-existing medieval, dates from 1584 and was commissioned by Giovanni Alfonso Sylos.

In July 2004, brother and sister Rosaria and Girolamo Devanna of Bitonto donated an important, valuable collection of paintings to the state, with the purpose of founding the museum, which was consequently opened to the public in 2009.

The museum operates in coordination with Direzione regionale musei Puglia, which promotes and coordinates the museums in Puglia.
