Le Potager du Roy was created between 1678 and 1683 by Jean-Baptiste de la Quintine, the director of the royal fruit and vegetable gardens, in order to provide fresh vegetables and fruits for the table of the court of Louis XIV.
Today it is managed by the École Nationale Supérieure du Paysage and open to the public, including a boutique with fresh products from the garden.
