Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de la ville de Meudon
Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de la ville de Meudon presents the history of Meudon through various paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures and models. The museum is housed in the charming country house, which once belonged to Armande Béjart, actress and widow of Molière. She kept the property until her death in 1700.
The collection contains an important collection of landscape paintings, which is mainly due to a donation from the Grellety family.
The museum also preserves a rare collection of sculptures and paintings from the 1940s and 1980s, with works of François Stahly, Jean le Moal, Juana Mueller, Alfred Manessier, Serge Poliakoff, András Beck and Parvine Curie.
The garden presents nearly 50 sculptures from the 19th and 20th centuries.
