The Lithuanian Sea Museum is devoted to the underwater-world of the Baltics, a maritime museum, aquarium, and dolphinarium. Founded in 1979, the museum covers an area of approximately 13 ha, displaying over 88.000 artefacts, such as shellfish, coral, crustaceans, echinoderms, seabirds, fish, and mammals.
The aquarium system consists of 24 aquariums with Baltic, Nordic, and tropical marine ecosystems including an 18m acrylic tunnel.
Klaipeda Dolphinarium is the only one on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea and can seat 1000 spectators, whereas the pool volume is 1800 cubic meters.
