Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, opened in 1849, houses a large collection spanning from the Middle Agers to the 21st century. The original collection was brought together by Frans Jacob Otto Boijmans, whereas the collection of Daniël George van Beuningen was acquired in 1958.
