Castles & Country Houses, Museums & Art Centres
The Museum of Fine Arts, on the first floor of the Rohan Palace, displays part of the collections of Old Master of the city of Strasbourg. The nucleus of these collections came from the expropriation of churches and cloisters, as a result of the French revolution.

However they have been considerably enlarged by donations and acquisitions, ever since.

The museum offers 4 distinct categories:

Italian and Flemish Primitives (Giotto, Memling), Renaissance and Mannerism (Botticelli, Raphaël, Veronese, Lucas van Leyden, El Greco), Baroque, Naturalism and Classicism in the 17th and 18th centuries (Rubens, Vouet, Zurbarán, La Belle Strasbourgeoise by Largillière, Canaletto, Tiepolo, Goya), and finally works from the 20th (Delacroix, Chassériau, Corot, Courbet).

The other part of the Collection of the City of Strasbourg are located in the Œuvre Notre-Dame Museum (Middle Ages and Renaissance) and in the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
