Musée international d'horlogerie
Museums & Art Centres
Musée international d'horlogerie, opened in 1902, is a unique museum, dedicated to the history of time through the 4000 exceptional pieces on display. The collection is spanning from the sundial to the atomic clock, including splendid watches and clocks, goldsmith jewelry and scientific techniques.
The collection originates from 1865, when teachers of Watchmaking School of La Chaux-de-Fonds were asked to put together a collection of old clocks. This resulted in the opening of a small museum in the same building as the school in 1902, whereas the present building was opened in 1974.
